Rosemary Barker, a native of Sebring, Florida, loved performing in orchestras and being a French Horn Professor throughout the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master of Music from the University of Tulsa and is ABD on a Doctor of Musical Arts in French Horn performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

After sustaining an ear injury, Mrs. Barker had to find a new passion outside of music. In the Fall of 2009, she found her new calling in designing for the web and in working with multimedia. She completed an Associate of Arts Degree in Web Development and Design from the Harrisburg Area Community College in 2012.

While she was attending classes at HACC, one of her web professors, Carl Petersheim, learned of her past life as a professor of music. He invited her to become one of the faculty and she has been with HACC’s Web Development and Design Department as an Adjunct Instructor since the summer of 2011.

Guiding students through Photoshop, HTML, JavaScript, and Web Design with Multimedia has been a true joy for her. She lives for those ‘light bulb moments’ when students catch the spark of passion for web design.
